KAMCO Sponsors and addresses MEED Restructuring Your Business Kuwait Masterclass

Kuwait City, 16 November 2009: KIPCO Asset Management Company KSC (KAMCO) - a premier asset management and financial services company in Kuwait ? has announced today that the Senior Vice President and head of the Corporate Finance Department Mr. Faisal Sarkhou, Mr. Abdul Hamid Mihrez, Vice President of Corporate Finance and Mr, Majdi Gharzeddeene, Vice President and head of the Investment Research Department, participated as speakers at the MEED "Restructuring Your Business" masterclass held at the JW Marriott in Kuwait City on 15th November 2009, which saw an audience comprising senior representatives of local and regional companies.

Messrs. Sarkhou, Mihrez, and Gharzeddeene presented the opportunities and challenges that come with corporate restructuring and refinancing in Kuwait and the GCC. "As economies and markets recover, companies need to consider the changing legal and regulatory factors while restructuring", said Mr. Faisal Sarkhou. ?Reducing debt while maintaining strong financial fundamentals is important for sustainable growth and to secure the confidence of investors and lenders.?

KAMCO also demonstrated the advantages of restructuring through a case study, and presented an overview of the types, dimensions, benefits and stages of the process of restructuring. Although economies are recovering, KAMCO maintains that it will be some time before the Kuwait market rebounds. In the meantime, this gives the market an opportunity to consolidate and for companies to restructure. KAMCO expects increased M&A and restructuring activities in 2010.
