KAMCO Investment Company, a leading investment company with one of the largest AUMs in the region, was a silver sponsor for the globally renowned ‘Maker Faire Kuwait’, which was held under the patronage of H.H. the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and with the attendance of the Minister of Commerce and Industry H.E. Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al-Roudan. The Faire, organized by Kuwait Investment Company, was held from February 9th to February 11th at Mishref Fairgrounds as part of the Company’s strategy to empower the local youth while supporting the local and regional talent tied to education.
In addition to sponsoring the event and setting up a booth, KAMCO participated in the ‘Maker Faire Kuwait’ judging panel that evaluated the participants’ projects individually and rated them according to a set criterion. Participants in the Faire included talented individuals from the GCC region who displayed their unique projects related to technology as well as arts and crafts.
Commenting on behalf of KAMCO, Ms. Danah Al Jasem, Vice President and Head of the Marketing Department at KAMCO said, “KAMCO’s sponsorship towards this great initiative is driven by the Company’s positive outlook towards guiding and supporting small and medium sized enterprises that deal with various categories such as technology, and handmade arts and crafts. The projects exhibited during the Faire further emphasized the entrepreneurial capabilities of local and regional participants, who dedicated their time and efforts towards creating products that could help improve our society.”
Ms. Al Jasem added, “Representing KAMCO on the judging panel, I had the pleasure of meeting the participants face to face and discussing some of their creations in depth. On this occasion, I would also like to express my thanks and appreciation towards the Minister of Commerce and Industry for his support, as well as the sponsoring companies for making this event possible. Participating in initiatives targeted to support and drive the youth falls in line with our corporate social responsibility agenda focusing on education, health and the environment, positively influencing our society as a whole.”
